If you want to make sure that you get the sweetcorn that you paid for plant different varieties at least two weeks apart so that they flower at different times or with at least 5-10m between blocks. If you don't do this the varieties may cross-pollinate with unpredictable flavour results.

Remove flowering stalks immediately

A fast-growing central stalk growing straight up may well be a flower which will suck energy away from leaf production. Cut and compost as soon as it is clear it's not a leaf.

Facebook login was causing problems so have temporarily removed. You can still create and share comments through Facebook though...

It's now much easier to put your plot and allotment association on the map - register or log on with your Facebook account, go to 'My Shed' and follow the instructions to draw your plot.
